Only One Remains Unbeaten - Zero Are Winless

Week six A division saw Buffalo Wild Wings sauce the Blue Jackets handing the Blue Jackets their first loss of the season by the score of 7-5. Geddy Krueger had the hot hands for the Wings recording a hat trick while Andrew Araco and Zach Wisniewski each added a goal and an assist. Ticket King improved its record to 4-2 by knocking off the other unbeaten team, Stenys Big Dogs 7-5. The win moves Ticket king into sole possession of second place. O'Connors made a claim against Chmill Insurance in an overtime contest 6-5. The game winner came at the 4:43 mark by Eric Sundstrom. Sundstrom also had two assists on the night. Ice Peckers also got its first win of the season by beating Leonard Insurance 2-0. Darren Tice led the Peckers scoring with a goal and an assist. The Ice Pecker goalie turned away thirty seven Leonard shots to get the goose egg.

In B action, Labatt Blue remained in control of the top spot by one game with an 8-1 victory over Beer Barons. Bryan Prittie was the top Blue scorer with a hat trick and an assist. Colin Shorts also had goal and two assists to help pave the way to the win.  Saber Cats picked up their 1st win by clawing away at second place Decibel Night Club 5-3. Kurt Anderson played a great game for the Cats assisting on four of the five goals as he managed to stay out of the penalty box. Bennos improved to 4-2 and in a tie for second by nipping out Korbellys 4-3.  The always aggressive Bennos squad pulled this one out in spite of a 3rd period that would have them in the box seven times.

The C-1 division saw S&B Undertakers remain in a tie for 1st place by beating a much improved Swamp Donkey team 4-3. Undertakers won this one with only seven players in attendance, six of whom contributed to the scoring. Coyotes also in a tie for that top spot controlled the Fighting Sue beating the Sue by the score of 7-2. Joe Schmidt recorded a hat trick and John Baugnet added two of his own to help lead the Coyote charge. Baker Pool got a much needed win by earning an overtime victory over Predators 3-2. The game winner came with two minutes left in the overtime by Gary Steffanich to seal the deal on this one. Dusters mean while grounded the Aviators by a final of 7-3. John Fitzgerald recorded a hat trick and a playmaker to lead the Dusters scoring.

Brass Monkey has taken the C-2 division by storm with a 6-0 start and a plus thirty six goal differential. Brass Monkey easily knocked off Predators posting a score of 8-1. Brian Peterson and Tim Sett had two goals apiece to lead the Monkey scoring. Paulie’s Ice Breakers remained in second place by beating the Screamin Eagles 7-3. Jay Bruenig put in four goals for Paulie’s while Randy Grubich added four assists. Warriors got a needed victory as they put out the Blaze 8-3. Kevin Keating and Jonathan Frey led the Warrior attack with two goals and an assist each. O’Donoghues moved into a three way tie for that second spot by derailing Korbelly Blues 4-2. O’Donoghues spread the puck well as nine different players put up points.

Bar Louie posted a 6-0 mark to lead the D division with a decisive 6-2 win over St. Pats. Adam Gustafson had two goals and an assist to lead the Bar Louie has been playing well thus far and may be tough to stop. The Norse invaded the Pirates and grabbed possession of the second spot pushing the Pirates to third with a convincing 4-1 victory. Clay Stearns put on a scoring show accounting for three of the Norse goals all coming in the 3rd period. 4th Base improved to 2-4 with a much needed win over Shooters Service. This was a close fought contest that would see 4th Base taking it 3-2. Erik Klung had a goal and added an assist to lead the way. Bennos picked up its first win of the season by stripping Crazy Horse by the score of 5-4. Will Apps caught fire for Bennos picking up the hat trick and scoring two assists.

The PAHL returns to action at the Pettit on Friday October 30 with games slated to begin at 6:00 pm.
