Some Remain Unbeaten, Some Winless

Blue jackets remain unbeaten and in a tie for 1st place by stinging the winless Ice Peckers 8-3. The Blue Jackets have gotten off to a fast start and with a plus 32 goal differential they have never looked back.  Jason Tallinger recorded a hat trick and added two assists to lead the swarm.  Also in a tie for 1st and unbeaten is Steny’s Big Dogs.  Steny’s trailed Buffalo Wild Wings 2-0 after one but then turned up the defense shutting out BW3s in the final two periods to win the game 5-2. Chmill Insurance claimed their first win of the season taking down Ticket King 5-3. Nine different Chmill Insurance agents added points to the statistics column proving that puck movement is essential to winning. Leonard insurance met up with O’Connors but neither team would taste victory in this one as the two battled to a 3-3 tie.

In B division action it was Labatt Blue clinging to a tie for the top spot in the division by taking it to Korbelly's by a final of 10-4. Bryan Prittie and Richard Deklotz each had two goals for Labatt. Decibel Night Club busted a move on Steny’s Big Dogs beating the Dogs 5-2. Justin Richter caught fire for Decibel pounding in four goals and adding an assist. Decibel remains in a tie for the division lead. Bennos moved into a tie for second by shooting down the Red hawks 4-2. Steve Harry scored two goals to seal the deal in this one. Beer Barons looking to get a win and move into a tie for second could not overcome the challenge of the improving Saber Cats as the two teams battled through overtime only to end up tied 3-3. Give your sisters a kiss for me.

S&B Undertakers remain in a tie for the C-1 lead with a close win over the powerful Dusters.  Steve Steidl scored the game winner at the 1:41 mark of the second period which was all that was needed as the two teams exchanged almost 40 total shots in a scoreless 3rd period. Coyotes, also tied for the top spot delivered a shut out to the Swamp Donkeys with a final score of 5-0. Corey O’Connor scored twice for Coyotes and Mike Turdo had 2 assists. Predators grabbed sole possession of 2nd place by defeating Fighting Sue 7-1. This one was never in doubt as Joe Almburg recorded a hat trick to lead the Predator charge. The Aviators are back flying as they took down Baker Pool by a final of 7-1. Pete Lanigan had a hat trick to get the Aviators back in the air.

Brass Monkey continued their perfect 5-0 record and grabbing sole possession of 1st by saddening the Blues by the score of 10-4. Jeff Christian drove in 4 goals to lead the Monkey business. This was the Blues 1st loss on the season. In another pivotal game Paulie’s Ice Breakers moved into a tie for 2nd with O’Donahues by beating them 4-2. Jay Bruenig led the charge for Paulie’s scoring two of the four goals. The Blaze positioned themselves in the third spot by torching the Predators 4-2. Gary Fernandez scored two goals for Blaze en route to the win. The mighty Warriors picked up their first win of the season by knocking off the Screamin eagles 7-5. The Warrior offense started to jell as Cory Majsek and Mike Makurat each scored twice to seal the victory.

In D division play Bar Louie moved to the top spot by beating the thought to be unbeatable Norse 4-3. The game winner was scored with 2:09 left to play by Kirk Radtke and The Norse could do know more. Kudos, Bar Louie. 4th base picked up its 1st win swashbuckling the 2nd place Pirates 6-4. 4th base spread the puck well allowing 6 different players to get in on the scoring action.  St. Pats moved into the 3rd spot by knocking off Bennos 7-2. Jim Ahern led the scoring with a hat trick while John Koniar added a couple of his own. Shooters Service improved to 2-3 by riding Crazy Horse to a 4-0 shutout win. Nick little led shooters scoring with 2 goals and an assist.
